KUET at a glance: Khulna University of Engineering & Technology, which is generally addressed as KUET, formerly known as BIT, Khulna, is one of the leading public engineering universities of Bangladesh giving special emphasis in the Engineering and Technological Education and research. The University is well known for offering very high quality educational, research and developmental programs. Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET) has a sober objective to achieve excellence in quality education, research and progression to address the present needs of the country as well as the South-Western region to make it as the "Center of Excellence".

History of KUET: Khulna University of Engineering & Technology (KUET), Bangladesh established in 1967 as Khulna Engineering College. The college was converted to a degree-awarding autonomous institution called Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Khulna in July 1986 through a government ordinance. To meet the demands of the days in the academic and research arena, the Institute was upgraded and renamed as Khulna University of Engineering and Technology in September 2003 under the “Khulna University of Engineering and Technology Act, 2003.” KUET is financed by the government through the University Grants Commission.

Faculty of KUET:
There are only three faculties at KUET, these are:

•  Faculty of Civil Engineering
•  Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Faculty of Mechanical Engineering

Departments of KUET:
Departments under Faculty of Civil Engineering, there are six departments under Faculty of Civil Engineering at KUET. These are as follows:

1. Department of Civil Engineering
2. Department of Urban and Regional Planning
3. Dept. of Chemistry
4. Dept. of Mathematics
5. Dept. of Physics
6. Dept. of Humanities

Departments under Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, there are four departments under Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at KUET. These are as follows:

•  Department of Electrical & Electronic Engineering
•  Department of Computer Science & Engineering
•  Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering
•  Department of Biomedical Engineering

Departments under Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, there are five departments under Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at KUET. These are as follows:

• Department of Mechanical Engineering
• Department of Industrial Engineering & Management
• Dept. of Energy Technology
• Dept. of Leather Engineering
• Department of Textile Engineering

Halls of residence of KUET/ residential halls of KUET: There are seven residential halls (1 female, 6 male) at KUET. These halls are named signifying important national persons and events. The names of halls of KUET are given bellow:

1. Fazlul Haque Hall (first dormitory)
2. Khan Jahan Ali Hall
3. Dr. M. A. Rashid Hall
4. Lalan Shah Hall
5. Amar Ekushey Hall
6. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall
7. Rokeya Hall (female dormitory)

Institutes of KUET: There is only one institute at KUET. The name of the institute of KUET is “Institute of Information and Communication Technology”
