Cadet Colleges are specialized autonomous residential institutions that impart an all-round education to the young learners of the junior secondary, secondary and higher secondary levels following the English version National Curricula prescribed by the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB). The Cadet colleges of Bangladesh have become a unique institution. In Cadet Colleges each academic year consists of three terms. Cadets are graded based on the result of fortnightly and term end exam.

Since its birth, the Cadet colleges are improving day by day. The excellent result of all the cadet colleges in all education board caught the eye of the guardians and they are inspired to send their kids to Cadet College. This overall success is the culminating result of the dedication of cadets, sound academic environment and proper supervision.

There are 12 (twelve) Cadet Colleges in Bangladesh from which 9 (nine) colleges for boys and the rest 3 (three) is for girls student.

Admission process / procedure for admission at Cadet College: All Cadet College admission test, admission procedure, selection criteria, eligibility criteria, exam rules and regulations are almost same for each year. We describe here a general procedure for admission in Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh.

Academic Schedule of Cadet Colleges:

The schedule of academic terms for Cadet Colleges is appended below:
  • 1st term – January to April
  • 2nd term – May to July
  • 3rd term 1st Phase – August to October
  • 3rd term 2nd Phase – November to December
Internal Examinations system of Cadet Colleges, Bangladesh:

The following internal examinations are conducted Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh in each year:
  • Fortnightly Examination (1/2).
  • Term End Examination
  • Pre-Test. (for board examinees only)
  • Test. (for board examinees only)
  • College Final (for board examinees only)
Steps of Admission in Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh:
  • Submit Application through online.
  • Written Examination
  • Oral test for applicant i.e. who can pass written test.
  • Medical test
Eligible candidate for admission in Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh:

Nationality: applicant should be a national of Bangladesh by birth.
Education: Candidate should be pass class xi or equivalent.
Age: Applicant’s age should be fourteen years only.
Height: 5 feet 6 inches for boys and 4 feet 8 inches for girls and
Applicant should be physically and mentally fit.

Other Conditions for admission in Cadet Colleges of Bangladesh:

Applicant will attend in admission test for just the once
When completed education, they have to be part of Bangladesh Army.
Candidate will select Bangla or English.

Assessment of Academic Performance of Cadet Colleges, Bangladesh:

The Assessment of a Cadet’s academic performance is made after the Board’s standard. However, for internal examinations, Cadet Colleges merge the ‘D’ grade of national standard into ‘F’ grade, increasing the minimum required score to pass up to 40. Thus, the grading table for academics stands as appended below:
