Sher-e-Bangla Medical College which is also popularly known as SBMC in short is a Government/Public Medical College in Barisal district, Bangladesh. The College is affiliated with the University of Dhaka. The Sher-e-Bangla Medical College was named after A. K. Fazlul Huq, known by his nickname of "Sher-e-Bangla" which means "Tiger of Bangla", a leading Bengali statesman/hero and former prime minister of Pakistan in the first half of the 20th century.
