About CUET, History of CUET, CUET
at a glance: Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology, which is
generally known as CUET is one of the prominent and prestigious degree awarding
institutes in the engineering education of Bangladesh, located in port city Chittagong
- the second largest city of Bangladesh. The CUET is a PhD granting research
based university of Bangladesh. Currently the university has more than 2500
students including international students. For the first time in Bangladesh,
CUET arranged a Robotics competition called ROBORACE and successfully finished
it on 23 December 2011. Teams from different universities of Bangladesh
participated in the competition with their Robots.
Chittagong University of
Engineering and Technology was established in 1968 as Engineering College,
Chittagong which was converted into Bangladesh Institute of Technology,
Chittagong in 1986 and the institution got the university status in 2003. It is
in the Pahartali union under Raozan upazilla, by the north side of the
Chittagong-Kaptai road about 25 kilometers from the center of Chittagong City.
Every year, about 640 students
get enrolled here in undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
